How does the design process work?
Generally, at least two meetings are needed. The first one
is at the project site, where we can measure your space, and
chat with you about what works and doesn’t work in your
current situation. We discuss with you your family
preferences and stage of life (i.e., family with young
children, empty nesters, whether the cook is right or left
handed, etc.) The second and subsequent meetings are at our
showroom, where we can show you different door samples in
several woods and stains. After the first two meetings, we
can draw a simple flat plan from which we can give you a
starting price for your cabinets and/or countertops. In
subsequent meetings, we can discuss appliance selection,
coordination of countertops, tile and flooring as well as
How long does the design process take?
Generally, cabinetry takes anywhere from 3- 8 weeks to
arrive from date of order. Before we are able to order
cabinetry, all decisions must be made as far as the design
of the space and also type and size of appliances and sinks.
Therefore we recommend that you allow at least 1- 3 months
before you require your cabinetry for the design process.
Do you charge for your plans?
The first simple flat plan is free of charge; any elevations
or perspectives drawn will be charged at $50.00 per hour.
That will be deducted from your total cabinetry price if you
order cabinetry with High Country Kitchens.
What is the price per square foot for cabinetry or
Because there are so many different materials and styles
used for both cabinetry and countertops, we are unable to
quote a per square foot price. When you see these prices
quoted at big box stores, they are generally for the
cheapest possible material and do not accurately reflect
what the client may wish.
Do you manufacture your own cabinets?
No, we deal with several different manufacturers. The
Crystal factory is located in Princeton, Minnesota, the
Medallion factory is located in Waconia, Minnesota.
Do you stock cabinetry?
All cabinetry must be ordered; we do not stock any cabinetry
here at our showroom.
I have cabinets manufactured by another company other
than the ones you represent - are you able to
order replacement cabinets or hinges or additional parts
such as roll out shelves for me?
Unfortunately, no; all manufacturers have different
specifications for all of their parts and pieces. We
recommend that you locate a dealer that deals with your
cabinet manufacturer or a local mill works that might be
able to custom make you a replacement part. For hinges,
there are many different ones made. The internet is the best
source to locate replacement hinges for old cabinetry.
I don’t want to replace my cabinetry – I just want to get
new countertops – can you help me?
We would be happy to give you pricing for countertops for
granite, quartz or Corian and explain the differences and
advantages /disadvantages of each material. We do recommend,
however that if your cabinetry is old, and you feel that you
might want to replace it in the next 5-10 years- you do so
before you replace the countertops. We have had several
clients who opted to put new countertops on existing
cabinetry; after the new countertops were in they decided
they would like to replace the old cabinetry, and it is
often not possible to do so.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
How does the payment process work?
We ask for a 25% deposit when the order is placed; the
balance is due upon delivery of the cabinets. Each step of
the process is invoiced separately as it occurs, such as
cabinetry, countertops and installation.
How long is the cabinetry guaranteed?
Each cabinet manufacturer has a different warranty, anywhere
from 1 year up to a limited lifetime warranty.
Country Kitchens Inc. proudly serves all of Colorado
including Denver, Golden, Arvada, Wheatridge and the
Front Range as well as Vail, Breckenridge and Aspen.
